Inside Panimage From QVC

Post by ExMORTIUS on Sat Dec 18, 2010 11:18 pm

There are 4 screws under the black border in each cornner. I found this out the hard way and cracked my touch screen Mad

Main Board

Looks like they used USB cards for mem and WiFi

MEM card

WiFI Card

Side with USB

So it looks like we might be able to upgrade the WiFi and mem.
let me know if you would like more pictures or other info.

Boy what didn't you ask me I would have told you how to open it. Now you cracked the glass all you can do with that is use it for parts. Now that's the one issue with this tablet, if your drop it the glass cracks very easy. It has happen to me. Can you remove that sticky tape over the CPU or is that ceramic?

use some thing like a Guntar pick, on the corner, you don't have to take the whole thing off just a bit to get to the screws. do not bend too much you don't want to crease the plastic.

So has anyone tried adding additional RAM to this baby? If so, I'm sure a lot of us would like to hear about your experience! I downloaded Snesoid so I could play some RPGs (Final Fantasy III anyone?!) but it's very skippy and pretty slow and I was hoping a RAM upgrade would help the situation.

Did you happen to get the number from the micro? I know it is an ARM processor, or at least that is what I have read.

I was wondering if maybe the processor could be upgraded with another chip within the same family. I have the ability to rework just about anything. If anyone has the chip part number that would be great and I can continue with my research.

Thanks

OK never mind, I found what I was looking for, Wonder Media 8505+. I work with the ARM7, LPC23XX and ARM Cortex-M3, LPC17XX and PSoC5. I bought three of these for $40 bucks each at a flea market , with the upgraded ROM it is at least usable.

I have been thinking about getting into programming with Android systems, any advice on where to start for someone with a background in coding embedded firmware for power systems?

Thanks
CxB
