Thank you for posting this. It looks nice, but, I think I'll pass. The only benefit to me with this would be the 1.6 OS which would let me download Kindle. I'll watch the presentation, but, so far I'm not moved. I did add it to my wishlist.

I don't see ACC, WMA, PDF or ePub supported. I don't like the idea of using a transfer box either. That's just one more piece of something to get lost. Don't need a camcorder on a tablet. The camera would only be used for bar code scanning apps, but still not needed on a tablet. My phone does both of those functions in a smaller form factor.

I am thinking of getting them for myself and my 9 and 10 year old nieces. I can not find any online reviews becasue it is exclusive to the Q for a few months.I can not afford ipod touches, and ipad are out of the question. Do you think this is a somewhat reasonable substitute. will it work like an android phone (without the calling feature), I love my droid phone. For me, will it jut be replicating the phone? How about the ereader feature?I know you all will understand the tech specs and faq's better than I.Thank you so much for any help you can give me. sunny

Don't worry about PDF just use the Power 101 in ZONE MESSAGE CENTER under downloads and use the doc to go. Ta da PDF support. Well I don't use camera on ePad the M-150 has a camera and both have video camera. But these have screen dump capture feature which is neat and the captures are sharp and vivid.

These tablets you can learn more about the Android OS and you can remote into Windows 7 system wireless.

If you go into Android Tablet Report Data Card you just look ePad and M-150 reports.

I like them because you can still watch music videos as kids would enjoy. I just download them to the PC and then transfer them to microSD card. I don't know what QVC packaging with this tablet yet? You'll need at least a 4GB Class (4) MicroSDHC card for it. This one support up to 32GB. 16GB can be had for $34.99 with free shipping from a Vendor in NYC. That's where I got mine from. It's Kingston with the full SD adapter include for free. If you interested I'll post the link?

iTouch is expensive and tiny screen where as this is full 7" 16x9 800x480 screen. You can do alot on this device. Videos has to be downloaded from Youtube on a PC then saved as FLV - 400x240p. Place them in a music video folder use Meridian Player. (Best touch screen player to use) Again this is all packaged in the TABLET ZONE MESSAGE CENTER under downloads file is called Power 101.

If you need help just let me know. I going to create a forum for this today to get the ball rolling before QVC does TSV on it. I might just order one myself to help out those here who need help plus I have some else to use. Tablet # 11 Very Happy

This one is going to be better as it's a true tablet it offers you more features. Next2 uses a different operating system and it's more geared to be e-reader.
Just to let you know I'll be getting this one too when it appears on I guess Saturday, then tweaking for the best speed an etc..

Tipstir ... I noticed you've reviewed the PanDigital Novel, how does this tablet compare?

I purchased the Black PDN and the functionality is okay ... I was hoping to view videos on it but most of what I'd like to view is not in the format BPDN can read. It also says its an Android system but I cannot access any apps from it at all.

The PanImage Media Tablet seems to be able to do more games and apps.

No this one here is more for apps than games. Only non-impact games no 3D only 2D or static games. More music, videos, reading, getting on the internet and remote control on systems on your network, listen to podcast, watch some youtube videos. Things like that.

Oh that! Well that comes from the same china outfit where the Pandigital Novel 7" is made from. It's the same thing except if might have some better improvements. But this is just like the Cruz Reader that's sold on HSN, QVC, Best Buy etc. If got a Best Buy nearby might be wise to go and check it out. Pandigital Novel 7 I had gone one at Bath Bed and Beyond and Kohl's. Video playback was awful and it was very heavy to hold in your hand. TS was flaky when you press a key another key would appear and you couldn't delete the keys as another key work be shown.

I was looking at the Cruz on QVC too. The stars for it looked acceptable, but, I couldn't read the reviews. The review at the link I posted said it did have updates from the Pandigital. I haven't heard a lot of good about the Pandigital that was on QVC a little while ago.

I like this one because it has Android 2.0 and is upgradable to 2.2 . It is about 6oz heavier than the Next2, that concerns me. I'd like something one pound or under. I also like this because it is more open, not locked down to one particular content provider.

I'll head out to BB, BBB or Kohl's to check it out. Thanks for your help.

Don't get this because that company has no plans to upgrade it pass Android OS 2.0. You'll be stuck with it. After my research I had cancelled my order with QVC for the Cruz Reader / Tablet. The full Cruz Tablet is not better either. Pandigital has 9" one I did order for it. Hasn't even go here yet. Sad

Because I don't want to deal with the interface piece. AND if I'm going to upgrade from the Next2 I want at least Andriod 2.2 or 2.0 which can be ugraded to 2.2. For the book portion I want Kindle, (I've already well documented that fact. LOL) For the tablet portion I'd like to be able to watch TV on it when I'm at a hot spot.

If that's the case then you might consider getting one that has 1GHz, 1GB RAM and run Android OS 3.0. ACER announce one but again not available yet and who knows if that will be ready for prime-time in 2011. The wife just got 32GB iTouch 4 (2010) I am not Apple person I am Windows programmer. I did start with other lauguages prior. But this iTouch has CTS panel and using the RTS all this time on the Android I had very hard time with CTS panel. I had to keep pressing it hard to for it to see my selections. I see it has the same delay like Android when rotation starts. What she had paid for it I could by 5x PanImage Media Tablet. Still everyone going to have their choice. Screen is to tiny for me and I don't like it and it's not for me! I'll stick with Windows and Android!

Back your needs, is 7" good enough for you. There $399 ViewSonic 10.1" Dual Core, 512MB RAM etc suppose to run Android OS 2.1 or 2.2. I've heard it's heavy.

The ViewSonic does sound like the specs would meet my needs, but, not the price. I'd like to spend no more than $200 and make EasyPay style payments direct to the seller a la HSN/QVC.

In the past hour I discovered Aldiko, downloaded it to the Next2 and got some free books to read on it. I like it better than the Borders app. For now, I think I'll just be reading two books at a time. One on my PC and Driod with Amazon and the other on my Next2 with Akdiko.

Whenever someone comes up with a 7" tablet, under $200, ($150 is better), that runs Android 2.2 and sells it to HSN/QVC on payments, I'll be there to buy it. The only way I could see myself buying something else now is if the Next2 croaked. So far it hasn't given me any problems and the battery is still charging and strong.

My husband barely knows how to use his phone and search for train sites on the internet. He doesn't touch any of my electronics. We don't have kids around to break anything. If this Next2 can last one year, I'll be happy and ready for something else.

Coby KYROS that had aired back in October on HSN was $199.99 and was on payments. 7" glass, HDMI full USB port and min Port Android 2.1. That looks like this for e-reading

The issue I had with this one was icons, menus were huge. This is good if you have eye issues or need to wear eye glasses like 3.00+

It's better to wait and see what comes out next on HSN or QVC at $200 bucks. Pandigital 9" was $199.99 on QVC and Rick the host was so excited over it. They need to focus more on tablets. But HSN pushing that Gateway desktop monitor TS for almost 1 grand. I think first that's to high to pay.

Anyway I just order one yesterday from China, I know but I needed a certain feature. They had 8" for $136 free shipping. But I don't need that. The one issue with these, best you don't drop them on a wood floor other wise they don't work no more! Good advise. Good to have a spare around also!

That picture looks nice. I saw the presentation for the Coby on YouTube. The only electronics that ever get dropped in this house is our cell phones. LOL

I figure that other models and enhancements should be coming out 1st qtr 2011. I asked hubby if he wanted one, but, he hasn't made up his mind yet. By the time he does, something will probably be available. I took a look at Maylong's website. Their "Where to Buy" page has HSN & QVC on it, so whatever else they come up with will be there.

Rick gets excited about everything! I've learned to put him on mute. Put the item in my wishlist and read the specs in peace and quiet. LOL After all that, if I like it, I buy.

Funny Last year the wife had called into Dave when they had that stoneware (temptations) stuff they like to push and peddle at us. Well at least the wife did a shut out for me, was nice to hear my name on QVC TV. Anyway I had gotten two sets for the wife and she got two more but find I am the one who uses it more. Now we got no space for those sets. Rick is hard push sales guy and he's okay. Dave keeps on changing his hair color from light brown to dark brown. I've been watching HSN when they first started out in FL. QVC wasn't available yet. I enjoy the electronic shows they're so funny and some of them think that 320GB RAM is real deal. It's HDD and if so it would be VRT-R. Still I like the fact I can return stuff if I don't like it! HSN been pretty good with me. QVC second place.

See I'm just the opposite. QVC is first for me, then HSN. The first purchase I made at HSN was when it was Home Shopping Channel in the mid-eighties. Back then you could ony buy exactly what they had on the screen.

My first purchase was electronics. It was a clunky channel changer for old TVs that didn't have a remote, like the one I had as a teenager. It had an equally clunky remote. But, I used it for years. I can't remember what my first purchase on QVC was it was well over 17 years ago and probably something for my kitchen. The best innovation for both sites is their websites and the ability to buy anything you want anytime. I still love to watch the shows. I can watch all day, all week and all month and never buy anything. I do have a bursting wish list though LOL Have a good night!

Hi foks, new to the forum. I purchased the 7" black Novel and am not a hacker or very droid educated. I've had a love hate relationship with the 7" black PDN but with the recent firmware update, everything is finally working and love the light weight of it, and the dictionary and night read mode. Biggest gripe is the Xlarge font size in not so large and smaller on some books than others. Also no line spacing. Kindle reader app looks cool but I can't get on this unit without hacking and I just don't understand or have the time (and black one is supposedly not hackable). I paid $179 and now I see QVC rolling out very similar unit where I supposedly can download any reader app I like for $129 and free ship. Very easy to download books to the 7" black novel and like the mat screen, but want better font sizes and reading options and just not sure if I should try the Panimage, or you suggest something else. Not clear to me what Android operating system back PDN runs, but I saw somewhere black 7" novel has 566mhz processor but only 156 Ram and 600x800 screen, vs 266mhz processor but 256 ram and 480x800 screen for Panimage. I just get feeling from Pandigital that they are not going to make the ereader portion of the 7" model any better. They just keep rolling out new units and pumping them thru QVC, which frankly annoys me. Did I get ripped off with the black 7" PDB cuz I can return. Would Panimage be faster than Pandigital based on the specs? Should I not waste my time with this unit; ie. will it be hard to download library adobe drm books which is what I do thru the black PDN? I really want primarily for an ereader that I can see in a dark car waiting for my kids at their sports, or concerts. I tried out the Nook color and hated the dictionary because if word in a form not close enough to root word and it doesn't find it, you can't back out characters like on the pandigital to find it or type in a new search (you have to go to web). Plus price is steep, Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

I got 3x from 3x vendors coming here so which one comes it's okay. They'll replace what I was using. I did get the original Gome Flytouch ePad this time. Maylong M-150 again and now PanImage Media Tablet. Just can't beat these prices and features.

Hey all I just joined here after purchasing this off of QVC. My husband is sleeping now so I couldn't ask him which tablet I should get. We are a real tech house. My 5 year old daughter and I both have Iphone 3G's and netbooks, I have a laptop, my husband has an HTC Evo, we also have a blazing fast CPU my husband keeps upgrading. He is a systems engineer here in NY and will be sleeping through my black friday shopping. I know you were talking about modding this unit. But I am confused..this has 3G capability or only WIFI? How is the camera and Video on the unit? If you modded it you can't use the camera? What OS can it be rooted to?

Considering the other tablets that are on sale like the one at Toysrus and Kmart. Which do you think is better?

I have books downloaded on my iphone the twilight series.. can I read it on this unit from QVC?

It has all those features on QVC, the Toy's R US one needs to be updated. There are some major issues with it. It's quick as it's new! Support for it is not like the Flytouch/epad, Maylong M-150 an now soon to be PanImage when their shipped. QVC gives till January 31st 2011 to return an etc.

Android works by app so does this one. Yes you can download books to it. Amazon Kindle App.

Right now it's a modified Android OS v1.6 with WMT2xxx build this keeps changing. Latest is 2.1.1_105 build number not OS version is still 1.6 base. Android OS 2.1 is being worked on for it. But for now it's Android OS v1.6 is what you see on QVC. That's the Apple Style Icons version on Android. That was recently introduced.

It's called Rooted ROM MOD is a folder that you download in a zip. I provide it in a Windows Installer to make it easier to place it on your microSDHC when you connect your tablet to your Windows PC. For those who don't use Windows there is that manual zip or 7z. So yes it's that simple to up date it to get it to do more than the stock ROM (firmware).

Hello, Tipster and the rest of y'all here on this forum,
I'm new to the forum and to this topic as I, too, ordered one of these from QVC the other night. I've been looking at the B&N color Nook, but with a daughter in college just couldn't justify the higher cost. Then when I saw this I thought I'd try it. But I do have some questions. Can it be easily used for an e-reader? Does it already have a program on it to download books? If I have to do something else to get books, what is that and is it easy for me to do? Any beginner sites or information that would help me learn? Thanks!

I had also this myself? Don't know what is coming on it. But in any case like the other tablets like this one. You don't have to worry. Under the ZONE MESSAGE CENTER under downloads you have plenty of apps to install.

From ePad tablet this is some of the e-reader apps available here. On this tablet from QVC the icons are huge so not going to have 6 icons in a row more like 5 icons.
