HP has now officially launched two Android tablets powered by Nvidia's Tegra 4 chip. Both the new HP Slate 8 Pro and the HP Slate 7 Extreme are now available through Best Buy at $330 and $200 respectively.

The new 8-inch HP Slate Pro runs at a 1600 x 1200 display resolution and features a 8MP rear camera, a 2MP front cam, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage space, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 3.0, all powered by Nvidia's quad-core Tegra 4 processor. As for connectivity, it has a micro SD card slot, a micro HDMI out, and a micro USB port. It's battery is said to pack in 11.5 hours of general run time.

The Slate 7 Extreme is certainly the more affordable of the new offerings at $200. It also has the Tegra 4 inside, but with a 7-inch,1280 x 800 display resolution, 0.3MP front facing cam, a 5MP rear cam and is set for about 10.5 hours of battery life. Beyond that its specs are quite similar to the Slate 8 Pro.

The Slate 7 is said to be a rebranded version of Nvidia's Tegra Note 7 project. There has been no official word on this and HP wasn't necessarily expected to take this direction, but due to similarities in the devices, many have been lead to believe this could be the case.

Beyond that, the Slate 8 Pro is now available through Best Buy, but the Slate 7 Extreme appears to be listed as sold out online at this current time.
