Which Rooted ROM Guys?

Which one do you want me to enhanced?

From personal experience, I would vote for the rooted rom that has market etc. IF both are rooted, have market, than I would like tweaks which would allow setcpu, etc to increase speed. YOu have always been able to increase the speed of the roms, so I am sure whichever rooted rom you choose will work. For the most part, the rooted rom I have tried has everything working satisfactory wqifi, touchscreen, g-sensor, music, etc with a few add in programs from market to play youtube.

I don't really care which one you start with - as long as it works. I would hope that the end product would allow the g-sensor, buttons, music, etc. to still function completely. It seems that both roms have mixed results. Obviously would be nice to have market, which Ishman's has, but if it would be easier for you to start with your beta and compile from there, than I'd say do what's best for you - you're donating time on a rom you'll never get to use, so we're grateful for your help regardless.

I just got mine last night, and didn't have much time to play with it. I'm planning to root with one of the roms this afternoon or tonight. After using the Sylvania, this maylong will have to speed up some for me to keep it, although the maylong has a brighter screen and the hard buttons for volume and home that I definitely like. One of the main uses I'm looking for in this unit is as an ereader for my wife who has some vision problems, so the brighter screen is a plus in this respect, but the speed is just so slow. Tipster, I'm sure you can work your magic with either ROM, just hoping for continued compatibility.

The new batch that is arriving now has serial number M150A10. Still has build number WMT2.1.1_105, which I think is the same as the second batch that had serial number m150101.

Question - once you root and use one of these, could you just try the other one by installing it? And then go back to the first if you liked it better? I think so, but wanted to ask to make sure.

Question # 2 - in the ROM Ishman linked, someone posted that after the flash, they had Firmware Version 1.9.1.v01 - does this mean that it's now running Android 1.9.1? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I'm still learning - and hope to continue to do so.

I vote for your beta. It is already more robust than the other and if you could fix the youtube apk and the market to give full android market I would be pretty happy. From my perspective, having full access to the full market would go a very long way to making the Maylong worth the $100. Also, is there a G-sensor that will actually work on this machine? Neither roms do that right now , I don't think...Thanks!!

One other thing, where is the "Power 101" link and any other links for apk's that I need at the moment to help you?

You need to go to the screen options in settings and enable the G-sensor for either ROM. Both work. Change during orientation. The little orientation icon will disappear when the g-sensor is turned on.

I had the exact same question that maestroteague has: the beta 006 ROM seems to have firmware version 1.6 and the ROM that Ishman found seems to have the firmware version 1.91 ... I'm guessing that firmware version = android os version?

Since this tablet and ePad are pretty much the same. Most of the extra features and stuff you need is in that forum. All downloads for apps, tools, games, etc. Are in ZONE MESSAGE CENTER under Downloads.

Power Collection Package 101 has everything for now. That one I would recommend it. You don't have to install everything and not everything might not work on m150. Some do require Android OS 2.1 or higher. But the software would let you know if it could install or not.

ROMs are kept like this one in the other tablets. But the only table that matches this one is the Flytouch. A new ROM MOD was release in there it's won't say maylong but it does say android / tablet zone. That was made for WMT2xxx users.

Now version numbers and build numbers.

When you buy a tablet with Android OS 1.6, you're buying a Modified Android OS 1.6. For the OEM to give you what you see they have to modified it so that's why you see different build numbers. The WMT2 is not Android OS 2.

Most of the firmware now is 1.9xxx which was pretty stabled. WMT2 locks down most of the changes we could have done under 1.9xxx. So now you have hybrid 1.9.xxx and WMT2. This is the way I was doing in my first ROM.

Now with you guys I wanted to make sure you could have the same as the ePad members here.

So the tablet zone mode works, but to get the speed some hardware features had to go. To get more speed that camera /video camera would have to go. There are other things that can go also. But then you won't be able to use the table.

So here's a list.

SetCPU
There is another way to over clock the table. I'll create a beta one for you all to test. It will will have SetCPU.

G-Sensor is slow in this table and so it the camera. But what I'll do is give you Extreme and Extreme Plus and then you decide what you want or don't want to run.

Hello im a newibe i got my maylong 150 on 11/15/10 and have rooted it and which i would like to thx all who have put so much time in to this work tipstir and so on.I think it's so much fun at time its like having an old atari i just love the diff rom's and the flashing right now im running beta script that was posted last night likeing it but would like to get angry birds working.Also im putting together for the kids is there a good.. im.. for this os Thx to all arcmatter

I tried your M150108A this morning and posted several comments in that thread. The caffeine score I got was usually in the 350s on that one. I just installed the one posted by Ishman, and am getting caffeine scores in the mid-370s. Market works (how I downloaded caffeine). I know that's not much difference in the caffeine score, but the unit is much more responsive and "zippy" than either stock or the "a" one that you compiled today (or last night). I haven't tried the 006 beta to be able to compare it, but this one Ishman found seems to be much quicker. Almost responds as well as the Sylvania one that I've been playing with. It might be worth me just starting with this one and adding the apps and utilities that I need. What do you think?

Well there is a 2.1.1_105 ROM out now.. I was going to see how that works here. I'll see what I can whip up. Start out slow and see how it goes. If I Rush it then. Just start off slow.. Beta first

Yes M150108 based on Ishman found one and is the not the same as M150108a (this one seems to be slower).

M150108 use that ROM or the Base 006 for now. The M150108a just seems to have to many issues. I've locked and reduce that thread for now..

OK. That sounds great. I was getting worried that I would be taking this thing back. I just want to surf the web some, and my wife use as an e-reader, and maybe a few other things, but it was so darn slow. Should I try the 150108 rom - will it be much different from the one I have on now?

Seems 3 of these ROMs are stable. this one m150108 the market if you really need it might not work. I do provide backups market replacements that should be loaded and installed already.
