Like to take this time to introduce a new tablet into family of tablet zones!

I'll be supporting this one right now I am supporting it under Android OS Gingerbread 2.3.4..

Currently Market V3.44 along with the rest of the gang of apps and tweaks are going to be soon available using ATZMOD-MENU for Windows 7. All what you need will be included. Just copy the folder to your NAND (4GB) run the command that's it. ATZ MOD - MENU will be shown and just press a few buttons for the task you want. That's it!

Not a bad looking tablet, has a Holi Moli GPU and all. Clean looking design. Headquarters in L.A. but wonder where the tablet is made..

It is still made in China but it is by custom specs from Skytex. It's the same one I reviews here. The Alpha 2 was a redesign based on customer wish lists from another forum. They dropped bluetooth for hdmi, went capacitive, and adopted the Mail400 gpu.

Skytex encourages the mod community, flashing or rooting doesn't void your warranty. They have 3 pads right now, the Alpha( at end of life), The Alpha 2, and the Pocket Primer. I am messing with the Pocket right now. It's a MIPS based 4.3 inch. We have root through su in terminal and rw access to the partitions. but it is more of a media player that does Android, rather than an Android tablet that does media, lol.

Actually Joe their Marketing manager is or should soon be a member here. They have had a tumultuous couple of months with the release of the Alpha 2, CES, and a office. PLus trying to get ICS and I think 3 more tablets to market, 2 Android and one Windows 7, makes for busy boys and girls in a small company.

Definitely nice to have a US based company with real tech support. They still have some of the issues any small company does, e-mail, and site submissions can take awhile to get a response from them. For me a big plus was the first time I called, the tech I spoke to recognized me from another forum and I didn;t get treated like a tech challenged wannabe ( which in androids case maybe I am a little lol). A lot of tech support you call and tell them your background and it is ignored and they talk to you like you are a two year old.

To be fair I have got some good support through Coby, kind of hit and miss. A Coby tech gave me a "on the down low" tip, Google tipstir and Kryos together, LOL! Phone support for Pandigital, hahaha i used support and Pandigital together, is really bad, but once it gets to actual techs, not too shabby, though a little slow.

I am working on the Skypad2 I have it OC higher than my Samsung Android phone which is very fast but maxes out 1024MHz over 768MHz with 512MB of RAM and 300MB free, where the Skypad can go slightly higher with over 200MB free still can fix that and WiFi shows over 7,000 downloads and 6,000 uploads. But the 802.11n @ 40MHz is not setup correctly so it's like 802.11G @ 20MHz speeds. CM3 Benchmark shows max 6,415 now after my tweaks but system tweaks I am working on. I have my Market V3.44 with all update G-apps used on the ATZROM here but ATZMOD for Skypad2. Also a Bloat Dupper is being build by me for Skypad2 to clean it out and free up more memory and NAND space. I have a lot on my plate so bear with me..

This is the kind of support that this pad needs and is and will be greatly appreciated by current and future adopters. While I don't think it is appropriate to say the sale price before they announce it but it will be a steal, plain and simple for what you get.

Bought my Alpha2 a while back and have been very pleased! Great to see independent development for it! I was rooting my girlfriend's Samsung Precedent the other day and got a bit jealous at all the custom Rome for an outdated phone!

Fri Apr 20, 2012 5:22 am by tipstir

So everyone knows how well the All Winner Single core 1.2GHz that runs out of the box on COBY 9742-8, 7042-4, SKYTEX SKYPAD ALPHA2, VISUAL LAND CONNECT and others in this class all run the same All Winner but only at 1008MHz.
