Problem Upgrading Maylong 150100

Post by ramey87 on Mon Apr 25, 2011 7:41 pm

Please help! I had upgraded my Maylong 150100 usinf RSX-Type-S and it worked just fine for several weeks. Recently, it stays stuck on the opening screen and does nothing. I've tried the other ROMs that are compatible with my version, and the Upgrading screen appears and and says the w-load, u-boot, logo, ramdisk and kernal uprades are all successful, but when it gets to "Upgrading file-system", it shows the current current version (WMT2.50_V1.5 MODEL: RSX-TYPE-S A_Spec 2010) and stays stuck right there. I've tried the different ROMs but it is the same each time. Am I doing something wrong?

Any advice/direction anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated...!

When I try to re-install the RSX-Type -S, the same thing happens: gets hung up at the Updating File-System prompt and lists the version I'm trying to install. When i try to install the Flytouch, it starts good and when it gets to the Updating File-System, the next line says "Please Wait..." (rather than list the version I'm trying to install), but it never gets past that. Is there something I'm doing wrong.....?

Use an empty sd card, formatted to FAT32. Make sure the script folder goes to the sd root. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

SD card is formatted to FAT32 and script folder goes to root (there is nothing else on the card), but results are the same.....when I shut it down and restart it, it shows the start screen of whichever ROM I tried to load (and thats all that happens, it just stays at that screen), so it seems to be going partially through the upgrade, but it still stops at the same point each time.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried this?

I had a tablet that would only run on this ROM. It wouldn't run on it's original firmware. I ran the A-Speck for a while, but it eventually stopped working, much like yours. It worked with the above ROM, though.

Same result: the upgrading of the w-load is successful, as is teh upgrade for u-boot, logo, ramdisk and kernal. The it gets to the

Upgrading file-system...
WMT2.0_000_V1.0 MODEL: RSX-TYPE-S 2010

and it stays stuck here and nothing else happens. I even let it run down the other night til the battery drained and re-charged it and it was the same result. The whole upgrade seems to be going well for the initial steps, but gets hung up trying to upgrade the file-system

Could I be missing part of the script for the upgrading file-system portion? I'm just kinda grasping at straws at this point...would welcome any ideas or suggestions

OK, OK....I've been trying various ROMs, and its the same result every time. The step of Upgrading file-system is where it is getting hung up every time....I am wondering if I've erased or lost part of the script that executes this step, because the other steps appear to be executed without problem or hesitation.

Does anyone have any ideas about what I may be doing wrong or what I need to do?

Seriously...anyone? I've tried 4GB and 2GB cards (yes, formatted to FAT32); let the power drain completely for each of the ROM's I've tried. Any 'thinking outside the box suggestions' out there? I'm pretty open to any suggestions any of you might have. I would just really like to be able to get this tab up and running again......

Do you have the original firmware and will your tablet run on that? If you have it, flash the original and get the tablet going. Then try the ROM that worked for you the first time.

Assuming Fat32, right wmt#, cache wipes, etc....

Let us know how you do.

Yes I have and have had the same results for all of them: After the "Upgrading file-system" line, it either says "please wait....." or it lists the ROM that I'm trying to upgrade to, and nothing more happens.

What have you done to your tablet prior to getting this error if the RSX Version had worked? So what did you do or install or changed. Your model was beta test buy one of our beta testers last year when the RSX Versions, GTR and RS where created and released. No issues with those codes, because the tablet at the time I've tested it myself. You can also use Xtreme and Xtreme Plus also.

Tipstir, thank you for the reply: I had not attempted to install or change anything prior to this (other than the ROMs) . I had not used the tab for about 2 weeks, and when I tried starting it up, is when the problem began. Prior to that, it had worked fine with the RS, GTR and RSX ROM's. Nothing had happened to the tablet in the interim: it had not been dropped or left in the sun (or splashed with Holy Water) or anything like that.

I did see a screen shot in one thread (can't find it again yet) that someone took showing their Drive with SD card, and it had the script folder and also several other: ~peacock (I believe) and one or two other. I seem to remember having several of those on my SD previously, but now it only has the script folder. DO those others get generated during the upgrade? (If so, then I may not be getting far enough into the upgrade for that to happen). For now, I will retry Xtreme and try Xtreme plus. Thanks

Grasping at straws here ... Smile , can you see the tablet if you connect it to your computer? In Windows Explorer, as a drive letter?
